About
I build AI systems
that actually ship.
I’m Monem — an AI Automation Engineer and computational science researcher based in Sudbury, Ontario. I design and build end-to-end AI pipelines using n8n, large language models, and vector databases, and I research how to make those same systems harder to weaponize.
My path into AI wasn’t a straight line. I studied computer science in Bangladesh, then spent two years coordinating programs for a tech company in Dhaka before moving to Canada to pursue graduate research. In 2024 I completed my M.Sc. in Computational Science at Laurentian University — where my focus shifted from building AI to questioning it.
The research question I keep coming back to: as AI-generated phishing and social engineering attacks become indistinguishable from legitimate communication, what actually makes people more resistant to them? My PhD research investigates cognitive forcing functions — structured decision-making interventions that slow down automatic thinking and make deception harder to pull off, even against highly convincing AI-generated attacks.
On the engineering side, I build real automation workflows — content intelligence pipelines, RAG-powered chatbots, AI email agents — systems that solve actual problems and run in production. I believe the best way to understand AI risk is to spend serious time building with it.

What I Do
Two tracks. One mission.
n8n Automation Pipelines
End-to-end workflows that connect APIs, trigger on schedules or events, and run without human intervention. Built for reliability, not demos.
RAG Systems & LLM Agents
Retrieval-augmented pipelines using Pinecone and OpenAI embeddings, paired with LLM agents that reason over structured knowledge bases — not just raw model weights.
AI Security Research
PhD-level research into cognitive defences against AI-generated phishing. Studying what actually changes human behaviour when AI attacks get too good to spot.
Background
How I got here.
2024 — Present
AI Automation Engineer & PhD Researcher
Independent · Sudbury, Ontario
Building production-grade AI automation systems with n8n, developing RAG pipelines, and conducting PhD research into cognitive forcing functions as defences against AI-generated social engineering.
2022 — 2024
M.Sc. Computational Science
Laurentian University · Sudbury, Ontario
Graduate research at the intersection of AI systems and human decision-making. Developed the theoretical foundation for applying cognitive forcing functions to AI-driven phishing defence. Awarded the Ontario Volunteer Service Award 2024.
2021 — 2022
Program Coordinator
Creative Nine · Dhaka, Bangladesh
Managed tech-focused programs and saw firsthand how convincing AI-generated content was already becoming — an experience that shaped the direction of my research.
2018
B.Sc. Computer Science
National University Bangladesh
Foundation in software engineering, algorithms, and systems design. Built the technical base that everything since has been built on.
